On Thursday, September 25th, 2008, Scott Fenton from Fenton Art Glass stopped by our store location at 2057 Washington Crossing to sign Fenton glass pieces.

The featured event piece was a 4" fabergé rose bowl in their new color - Blue Lagoon Opalescent. He also took time to sign other pieces that were brought in by customers or purchased by them that day.

There are still several pieces available for purchase that were signed by Scott. These pieces will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis.

"Good-bye, cash registers!"
We like to keep it simple at Altemueller Jewelry. We don't find it necessary to over-complicate things just to keep with the trends, and we generally figure, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it".

However, it is almost 2010.



Catching Up With Technology
The time has come for us to enter the 21st century. We are happy to announce that have chosen to advance our store and our customer service by installing a complete point-of-sale software system. We selected Guild Jeweler Software Solutions based on its comprehensive structure, ease of use, and outstanding customer service. We have scheduled installation for September 21, 2009 and are currently assembling the network and hardware we need to operate a system of this scale.

This new system will ultimately replace our current software that only tracks repairs, layaways, and special orders. It will also eliminate the need for sales associates to hand-write sales receipts. Barcode scanners will be implemented and used to create sales and track repairs. The comprehensive database will manage our entire product line and will include pictures of most products, which will then appear on the computer and sales receipts.

An All-New Altemueller Jewelry Experience
Besides the immediately obvious, there are literally hundreds of benefits to the system we have chosen and we are truly looking forward to providing a substantially improved customer experience at our store. Of course, patience will be required of everyone during the transition time, since there will be several weeks after installation during which we will be making ourselves acquainted with the new hardware and software procedures. Ideally, we hope to be comfortable with the ins and outs before the Christmas season starts.

Overall, we are very excited about the progress we're making and invite everyone to stop by and experience Altemueller Jewelry 2.0 after September 21!
